Carly Young is a PhD Candidate in Sociology with a graduate certificate in Women's and Gender Studies at the University of Texas at Austin.

As a feminist ethnographer, she studies the anti-abortion movement in the post-Dobbs era, drawing on fieldwork at crisis pregnancy centers in Texas and California. Her research examines how gender, sexual and reproductive health, and parenthood intersect within contrasting policy contexts.

Carly's interdisciplinary research spans sociology, public health, and feminist studies, exploring how people navigate intimate relationships, public institutions, and identity. She believes that telling women's stories through research can help translate lived experiences into meaningful policy change.
