Carly Young is a PhD Candidate in Sociology with a graduate certificate in Women's and Gender Studies at the University of Texas at Austin.

As an ethnographer, she studies the anti-abortion movement in the post-Dobbs era, drawing on fieldwork at crisis pregnancy centers in Texas and California. Her research examines how gender, sexual and reproductive health, and politics intersect within shifting legal landscapes.

Carly's interdisciplinary research spans sociology and feminist studies, exploring how people navigate relationships, reproduction, and identity when policy shapes abortion access. She believes that telling women's stories through research can help translate lived experiences into meaningful policy change.
