Carly Young is a PhD Candidate in Sociology at the University of Texas at Austin.
As an ethnographer, she studies the anti-abortion movement in the post-Dobbs era, drawing on fieldwork at crisis pregnancy centers in Texas and California. Her research examines how gender, family, and reproductive health are shaped by shifting legal landscapes.
Across her work, Carly focuses on how people experience relationships, reproduction, and identity under policy constraints. She believes that telling women's stories through research can help translate lived experiences into meaningful policy change.
