My pedagogy places students at the center of learning. I believe that all students—especially women, people of color, and students with disabilities—thrive through inclusive classrooms, intentional mentorship, and sustained community support.
I have taught in prisons (Texas Prison Education Initiative), inner-city elementary schools (Center for Urban Teaching), TEFL classrooms abroad (Learning Enterprises Panamá), and universities as an adjunct professor at Concordia University Irvine and Lead Teaching Assistant at UT Austin. Beyond academia, I instruct fitness at DivaDance, an all-women's studio that inspires confidence and builds community through movement.
Across diverse contexts, I aim to cultivate students' self-assurance, intellectual curiosity, and excitement to lead with their voices.
"Carly was the best TA I've had in a college course. She was always so kind and available to talk. Very intelligent and explained concepts in ways that were easy to understand."
"Carly's morning check-ins were helpful because it allowed everyone to talk and interact with each other."
"Carly was very engaged with students and the course; she was helpful at all times."
